10 G Freshwater Aquarium looks yellow?

I found that real plants made the water dirty, but they are good for putting oxygen back in the water. It is probably just algae. And algae grows in warm places and fluro lights make the water warm. So if you leave the lights off when your not home then it shouldn't grow so fast.
