'99 Honda CBR 600 FX starting trouble?

All ok until today when bike refuses to start. On pressing the starter on, the relay next to the battery gives one 'click', followed by another single 'click' when you release the on. Engine doesn't even try and turn, just these single clicks when you press the on. Bike is used every day, is fuelled up and battery is only 3months old and has been on charge all last night. Kill switch is off, as is alarm and immobiliser. I can get it going but only by bump starting it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Smudge.
