How to lunge a horse?

i have never lunged my horse and dont know how to either. i don't have the equipment to use for lunging. is there any stuff that i could use like reins or something and how do i actualy lunge her ??? she is 16 and hypo i just want to lunge before i ride because i herd that they are better when riding them!!! thank you!!!
