Crazy question, need advice?

Ok, i know it probably sounds crazy, but can my previous dogs spirit still be in our house? Our 8 year old yorkie just recently ped away, due to an illness. Well very shortly after, my aunt gave us a chiwawa puppy (sorry bout spelling), but anyways the only time i have heard this puppy growl or bark, is when we take her out to use the bathroom, she barks and growls at my husbands hound. But the past couple of days she keeps looking at my former dogs bed and growls and barks hysterically like something is there, but there isn't. I know it sounds crazy, but what could explain why she is doing this? Could it just be the smell or something, that is still here? She is really confusing me lol. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.
